Finding online marketing tools that are actually useful can often be hard, but having worked in the industry for almost two years now, I have managed to stumble upon a few gems that now I could’t live without!
Hootsuite is a great social media management platform that allows you to schedule posts to all your social media websites in advance. You can have a free account, or Pro or Business accounts, which have monthly payments. The free Hootsuite account only allows you to post on three social media profiles, where as the pro and business lets you have up to 50. If you have more than one person that would be posting on your social media website, Hootsuite makes it a lot easier to make sure everyone knows what is being posted, as you are able to look at the scheduled posts. This prevents duplicate content being created or posts not being sent.
On some social media websites there is a word limit on how many words you are allowed to post at one time and it is often annoying to post long links to content, making the post look messy and using up word space. With Bitly, it quickly shortens your links down to a smaller size, which is great when you are trying to redirect people to a lengthy site URL. This service is completely free, with no sign-up process, and takes seconds to do.
MailChimp is a great website to help manage your email campaigns. It allows you to create lists of email addresses and create and design emails to be sent out to various people, making it quicker and easier to send out emails. If you aren’t a designer or are unsure of how to make your email look good, it offers an easy "drop and drag" feature with pre-made templates to help get you started. Not only does it let your design emails, it also allows you to share them on social networks and track your results of how your different campaigns are doing, showing who has opened the email and clicked through. This is a great way to tell how your campaigns are doing and whether you need to change things in order to improve them.
In short, HubSpot is an all in one marketing software that provides tools to help your company with blogging, SEO, social media, email, landing pages, marketing automation and web analytics. It allows you to either integrate the software onto your current website or build a new company website on HubSpot and can act as a content management system (CMS) as well. It is simple and easy to navigate, with all your marketing tools in one place.
Pablo by Buffer
Pablo is a great photo editing service created by a company called Buffer, that we often use at CW Marketing to create thumbnails and feature photos for our blog posts. It has been stated that blog posts that have images receive 94 percent more views than those who don’t, and that having an image on a post leads to more than double the shares on both Facebook and Twitter. Pablo is a completely free service with no sign up process, so it is quick and easy to use, which makes it a great marketing tool for all businesses.
Finding free photos that aren’t copyrighted can be hard, but Pexels is a site that has a large collection of high quality photos on offer for free of charge and is always my first port of call when I am searching for an image for any marketing purposes.
