Is There Really Such Thing as Explosive Growth?

Does fast growth work at the speed we think?

Hyper Explosive Growth is the golden trophy glittering in every new company's eye. Every young, hungry CEO scrounges for the tricks to an accelerated take off, dreaming of a transition from regular blood, sweat, and tears to riding a rocket on autopilot. And it's just a fantasy most companies project to feel better than everyone else.

Growth can happen fast, but only a small part of it. In truth, growth starts a lot further back most people are willing to acknowledge. The social media-inspired adage, "Don't compare your hustle to someone else's highlight reel," doesn't apply to the envying after someone's growth, because what most people look at isn't even a highlight reel. It's an interpretation of a highlight reel—a very abstract one.

Followers can be acquired in mass loads at a time, every month can be a revenue-breaking record, and one PR move can change set a new zeitgeist, but, every trend can be traced back to just a few people, and not celebrities who intentionally wore something to shock the world and force change. Lasting trends have been loose interpretations of what became before, and often, are slowly etched into casual life.

Injecting something new into people's daily choices isn't hard, as long as the strategy is planned out with proper observation and meticulousness. A business owner doesn't have to be a sociologist, or anthropologist, community organizer, to strategize tapping into the small details in a targeted demographic's life.

Building genuine relationships is the obvious answer, but there's more to it than being friendly to people who are hard to relate to. That's okay. Relatability doesn't have to be a top priority. Reliability does.

The kind of reliability in business and marketing relationships doesn't lay in trusting the job will get done. It lies in trusting you can be a good backup support. This kind of backup support is a gentle dance that pays mind to proper timing, mutual agreement, respect, and mutual goals.

Unlike real friendships, these kinds of backup support relationships are often going to be filled with uneasiness. You'll never really know where you stand, because a certain amount of space must be maintained for the sake of balance. But, nonetheless, they're still vital, because loyalty will remain alive and well, even if it can't be seen, day by day. While this loyalty isn't what sparks growth, it does inspire others to carry the torch and increase the flame.

When people see someone established a deep loyalty, they are seeing an example being set. This example, while not always set to impress, does commend respectability. And respectability will always be an agent of change, though not right away.

Watch the video to learn about the science behind creating the perfect backup relationship, and how you can influence it to instill trust, loyalty, and replication. Residual growth is nice, but it never starts with everyone doing the exact same over and over again, the biggest myth the video busts, and provides information on what actually goes in place of such a curtain.
