Figuring out strategy and survival are a huge part of many of the video games that are available today. These games help players get creative, and figure out the best way to survive, like Fortnite. This game is played by hundreds of people on a daily basis. Some spend most of their day simply playing this game.

But, what if there were a way to take what is learned in such a game and turn it into a career? In today's world, it can happen. That's right, you can actually use your skills in strategy and survival from gaming in a real job.

There is a huge need for people in such a field. Think about organizations like FEMA. This organization is huge. It is up to the many people that work for this organization to come up with strategies to help those in emergency situations. They help with survival and even, where needed, fixing vulnerabilities in an area.

A Dream Job Just For You

If you are one of the many that spend thousands of hours playing Fortnite, there is an excellent career opportunity just for you. Look into emergency management graduate programs there are many to choose from, and all areas are in need of people who can strategize and find means of survival. Plus, you can find online degrees that won’t even make you leave your house.

As mentioned above, organizations like FEMA are looking to fulfill positions in Emergency Management. The people that work this type of career have to make sure that they can work, not only in emergency situations, but to best strategize how to maintain and structure communities to be protected and ready should something happen.

Another part of being in Emergency Management is keeping track of resources, and the responsibilities of everyone on a team with an organization. This is highly important. Keeping track of what is available for those in a community such as water, food, toiletries, etc. is all taken into consideration.

Just like in a game of strategy and survival, you must be able to plan as well as work with a team of individuals to cover all areas that are needed in a community, state, etc.

As our world changes through severe weather, climate changes in a region, or even during disasters, there is a huge need for people that can manage and handle setting up what is needed. By being apart of such a team, you are able to help save the lives of millions of people in an area.

Curious and want to know more?

It is said that there are a total of four phases of emergency management. The first phase in any given situation is being prepared. That means having certain areas of a community structured and ready for any given situation.

Mitigation is the next phase, this means lessening the force of an issue. What structures around a community or state may need to be reinforced or structured better? For example; levies, damns, low water crossings, bridges.

What next? Having the man power for response. Making sure that there is contact, and ways for those in emergency situations to have a way to contact the police, fire department, etc. Or how about even those that may have to reconnect the power in an area.

Last, but not least, is recovery. Helping the community to recover from a disaster or other emergency situation that has happened. Being able to have the necessary supplies and people on hand that can respond to getting things running once again. By clearing roads, repairing structures, getting fresh water flowing again.

Turn your passion for a game like Fortnite into a reality, and show your friends what you can do for your community, family, friends, and others around you.
