I stumbled across the JOANY Survey on The Penny Hoarder. My first initial thought was, there is absolutely no way they are paying you $25 to take a 10-minute survey. Most of the time surveys either pay nothing for very little (under $1) for about 30-45 minutes of your time. Anyone who participates in survey panels such as Qmee and One Opinion knows what I’m talking about. Though, these are still good sites to sign up for, for their own unique reasons.
JOANY is on a mission to make healthcare and insurance better for consumers. One of the ways they are able to do this is by conducting this research study. They are constantly on the lookout for valuable feedback and suggestions to make the healthcare and insurance a better experience for everyone. This includes both the providers and the consumers.
In order to qualify for the JOANY Survey, you must meet a few minimum requirements. But if you do, $25 is a nice compensation for roughly 10 to 15 minutes of your time. At least, it is in my opinion. It’s far better than wasting your time on meaningless surveys that only pay you $0.25 when you’re finished.
Before you get too excited, taking this research study isn't as easy as you might expect it to be. The JOANY team has set some reasonable requirements to help them enhance the efficiency of their studies. And one of the ways they do this is by creating a focus point that revolves around the type of geographical profile they are looking for.
As described on the JOANY site the eligibility requirements are as followed:
- You’ve bought insurance through your state exchange, Healthcare.gov, through a broker, or directly through a health plan like Oscar or Aetna for 2018.
- You don’t receive your health insurance through an employer.
- You aren’t currently enrolled in a short-term plan.
- Must have current and active health insurance.
- Must not be on Medicaid, Medicare, or have VA health insurance.
You don’t receive your health insurance through your school/university that you are enrolled in.
You haven’t taken this research study using your current health insurer previously.

How Compensation Works
Once you’re done with the research study, the JOANY team will review your responses and contact you within 48 hours upon completion. They may require additional documentation (such as health plan verification to ensure that your plan is active). However, if no additional documentation is needed you will be compensated via Paypal.
One of the really cool things about this survey is that once you’re finished JOANY will send you a referral link via email. That way you can share the joys of JOANY with everyone. Even if you’re not a blogger, you can share the link and get compensated. The team will compensate you $25 for each person who successfully completes their survey. It’s really a win-win situation. They get $25 and you get $25.
You can share the referral link on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Google+. And honestly, if you don’t qualify for the survey, you’ll still get a referral link which gives you the opportunity to make money. One guy made over $2,000 just by spreading the word and getting people to take the survey! If that doesn't make you want to sign up, I don't know what will!
